Gabrielle Kruger was born in 1993 in Cape Town, where she currently lives and works. After graduating summa
cum laude from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BA) ) in 2015, she went on to be awarded
her Masters in Fine Arts (MA) from Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2018.  In the
same year, Kruger was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the 33rd Chelsea International Fine Art
Competition and participated in the collective exhibition at Agora Gallery, New York City, USA.
Solo exhibitions include; For Paint to Dry at SMAC Gallery in Stellenbosch, South Africa and Overgrowth at
Marta Moriarty Art Window in  Madrid, Spain in 2019; a solo exhibition as part of the Selected Graduates Section
at Turbine Art Fair in Johannesburg, South Africa as well as her Masters Graduate exhibition Undergrounding
Landscapes at Michaelis School of Fine Art - University of Cape Town (UCT) in Cape Town, South Africa all in
2018.
Kruger’s participation in group exhibitions in 2020 includes; Matereality at Iziko South African National Gallery in
Cape Town, South Africa, Shaping Things: An exploration of clay and ceramics in contemporary South African art
practice at SMAC Gallery in Stellenbosch, South Africa, A Show of Solidarity at SMAC Gallery in Cape Town,
South Africa, and SMAC Gallery’s group presentation at the 2020 Investec Cape Town Art Fair in Cape town,
South Africa. Kruger has exhibited her works in numerous group exhibitions including SMAC Gallery’s
presentation at FNB Art Joburg at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa; Unresolved
Categories at Gallery MOMO in Cape Town, South Africa and The Female Line, at SMAC Gallery in Cape South
Africa all in 2019; Intersection, along with Gabriel Tendai and Neo Matloga at Tyburn Gallery in London, UK;
