Letter 1: A Song of Crack

I know a man
who falls in love with a song
he chases it
to the sea
to the unknown edge
to the darkness
He never stops
not until he grasps it in his hands.

He dwells in the cracks, cracks on the map
he never seeks for escape

He has different names,
Odyssey,
Columbus,
Adventurer,
Colonist,
He has different faces, singing
the same song, chasing
a different moon.

Cracks on the map
Tide after tide, burying
his secrets.

He puts his finger into the cracks,
Feel!
the kiss, the tenderness, and
the curse.
The bite of the song.
The secret darkness.

Letter 2: Captain

Another sunset,
a thousand sunsets,
Another night,
a thousand nights,
Rum and stars,
a million stars,
Drifting on the sea.

Tides,
Rocks,
Lovers and songs,
Death and gravity,
Inevitable.

I, captain,
I am the inevitable witness—
the storm comes,
the sky falls,
the wrath destroys,
the worlds born.
